Viler than the earth
They were children of fools, yea, children of base men: they were viler than the earth.
– Job 30:8
In which I revisit some of the subjects in Rebels, Rogues, and Outlaws.
Today, Steve Bannon.
Save Trump, and maybe Elon these days, I would argue that nobody on the right draws as much contempt and vitriol as Steve. This is a clear indication that he’s effective. The left is impotent and struggle to combat his effectiveness, because the sheer lunacy of their positions only strengthens the arguments for Steve. So they pivot to slander.
The goal of the leftist is not to argue the point with cogent logic and persuasion, but to dehumanize, erase, and delegitimize the person. After all, in their world, one need not engage with positions if the person they’re engaging with is a fascist. It’s a simple way to avoid the cognitive dissonance they must surely feel when the hammers come out, Molotov cocktails begin to launch, and the body bags begin to pile up.
Left to their own devices, this is always the result.
Their go-to tactics; smears, name calling, and character assassination are the preferred methods when violence and destruction don’t work (for example, see Trump assassination attempt Butler, PA; violence against Tesla nationwide, BLM riots). Nothing frightens a commie more than an equal exchange of ideas - because they always fall short and deep down, they know their positions are untenable.
Theirs is a world of circular reasoning and myth making, built on outright lies, half-truths, and innuendo.
There are levels of lying – one is self-preservation and is a very human reaction to news or confrontation that can damage. See Bill Clinton “I did not have sexual relations with that woman.”
Then there are lies made up of whole cloth, with not a shred of truth in them. See Adam Schiff. He would come out of the Russiagate inquisitions and claim there was irrefutable evidence of wrongdoing. If only he could share the top-secret information, you would see for yourself. These were lies.
Let’s not forget the infamous 51 Intel Letter, signed by 51 top members of the Intelligence Community claiming that Hunter Biden’s laptop, and its trove of incriminating information, was not real, and had “all the classic earmarks of a Russian information operation.”
It’s no coincidence this letter came at the close of the 2020 election. Had the truth of the laptop been shown to the public, it likely would have put the election into “too big to rig” territory. As it was, media, big tech, and their allies, with the cover of this letter, could and would, suppress this information to their own end goal.
Here we have high profile government officials make up lies and peddle them to the public. Trot out an “expert”, slather a lie with a patina of truth because they’re supposedly trustworthy, give the press some plausible deniability, and we have a homemade scandal that has no basis in reality.
Then there are the lies by omission, (see also The Fine People hoax). One of my favorites is when Bannon spoke to an audience of the center-right Front National in Lille, France in which he said, “Let them call you racist. Let them call you xenophobes. Let them call you nativist. Wear it as a badge of honor."
In the Air Tonight – Phil Collins
The implication is that one should be proud of being racist, when in fact, this is the opposite of what he said. In context, which nearly every major news service left out, was the set up to that phrase, "History is on our side. And the biggest reason -- the globalists have no answers to freedom.”
What he was saying is that the left has been exposed for their insane policies which they cannot defend, so all they can do is call people names and try to dehumanize them, cancel them, and create a narrative that now everyone can point to as some kind of proof that Bannon is a racist, xenophobe, fascist, and so on. But people aren’t buying it anymore.
This is how they lose. Once truth is seen, it can’t be unseen. It will always leave a mark.
Make no mistake, this is a sign of power and influence - they can’t mock him into submission - he’s unmovable and their derision holds no sway with him. On the contrary, he gains strength from their revulsion. He knows he’s in their heads, and that’s where he intends to stay.
